8 Ball Tracker ("the app") is operated by an independent developer for use by pool and billiards clubs and casual groups. This policy explains what the app collects and how it is used.
Information we collect
Account details:display name, email address and a hashed password — or your Google account details if you choose to sign in with Google
Preferences:your chosen theme, date format and time format
Club data:clubs you create or join, your role in them, and the staff permissions set for that club
Local player names:the names a club adds for the people who actually play at its tables. These people do not have accounts, and no contact details are collected for them
Match and Knock Out data:frame scores, ball pots, shot and visit timings, break results, Knock Out brackets, and the statistics derived from them
Club activity log:a record of admin and umpire actions in a club (who renamed it, who added a player, who ended a match)
Abuse protection:temporary and Free Club Night allowances and bulk-account safeguards use a random browser identifier and a one-way protected network identifier. Short-lived account-creation counters are deleted within 48 hours. Raw IP addresses, MAC addresses, phone serial numbers and device fingerprints are not stored for this purpose
Optional camera stream:if a club enables a table camera for the venue display, the picture is relayed live through the server. It is never recorded or stored, and camera credentials stay on the server and are never sent to viewers
How we use it
Account, club and match data is used solely to run the app — scoring matches, driving the venue display, and building club leaderboards and history. We do not sell or share your data, and it is never used for advertising. There are no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking in the app.
Data storage
Data is stored on infrastructure operated by the developer. A club owner can delete their club from within the app: it becomes read-only immediately and is permanently erased seven days later. You can delete your own account at any time; this immediately removes the account's email address, password and Google link, while shared club match records remain for the other members — seeDelete Your Account.
Third parties
Google Sign-In— only if you choose to sign in with, or link, a Google account. Subject to Google's own privacy policy
Google Cast— only if you cast the venue display to a TV. The Cast SDK is loaded from Google's servers at that point
Resend— our email provider, used only for transactional email such as password resets
Cloudflare— provides the tunnel that makes the app reachable at its public address
Stripe — Stripe receives the account and billing information needed to process and manage subscriptions. Payment details are entered on Stripe-hosted checkout pages. The app stores Stripe billing identifiers and subscription status, not full card numbers or security codes.Stripe privacy policy.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children and is not knowingly used to collect data from children under 13.
